Yilgarnia Wines is located in the Denmark Region on the South Coast of Western Australia. Yilgarnia is the geological name for a region of Western Australia formed more than 2 billion years ago.

The town of Denmark is found on the shores of Wilson Inlet, which runs approx 15 km to the east and 5 km south of the town. Two major river systems discharge into Wilson Inlet, which in turn flows to the Southern Ocean.

The Vineyard has a north-facing slope with views of the Hay River Valley, Wilson Inlet and the hills surrounding Denmark. The immediate outlook on the farm is across a flat of grazing cattle.

Yilgarnia Wines is one of only 5 vineyards from the Denmark sub region of the Great Southern to be listed as a commendable vineyard in the 7th edition of the James Halliday Wine Atlas.

James Halliday nominated Yilgarnia’s Sauvignon Blanc as the signature wine. A remarkable achievement given that this is only the 7th edition in 36 years by Australia's premium wine writer.
