Winery Experience

5 Star Halliday Winery Merlot 100% estate grown and made by Yilgarnia Wines. Due South premium wines emerge from one of the most pristine environments on Earth. The costal setting provides the perfect conditions for cool climate fruit exhibiting intense character.

Yilgarnia Wines is located in the Denmark Region on the South Coast of Western Australia. Yilgarnia is the geological name for a region of Western Australia formed more than 2 billion years ago.

Shep-Millie-medThe property is more specifically located on the Hay River, 6 km north of Wilson Inlet. The town of Denmark is found on the shores of Wilson Inlet, which runs approx 15 km to the east and 5 km south of the town. Two major river systems discharge into Wilson Inlet, which in turn flows to the Southern Ocean.

The Vineyard has a north-facing slope with views of the Hay River Valley, Wilson Inlet and the hills surrounding Denmark. The immediate outlook on the farm is across a flat of grazing cattle.

Yilgarnia Wines is one of only 5 vineyards from the Denmark sub region of the Great Southern to be listed as a commendable vineyard in the 7th edition of the James Halliday Wine Atlas.

James Halliday nominated Yilgarnia’s Sauvignon Blanc as the signature wine. A remarkable achievement given that this is only the 7th edition in 36 years by Australia's premium wine writer.
